The Literary Research Essay

Read Leslie-Ann Hales’ essay “Spiritual Longing in Laurence’s Manawaka Women” and one novel by Margaret Laurence.  According to Hales, Laurence’s women portray the idea that our relationships with others derive from our views about ourselves and our place in the universe.  Argue this idea using the novel and the essay.
