April 29-30.

Lecture One for Moon of the Crusted Snow PPT and note-making.

Open your prepared Cornell Note.

Make notes on the lecture. It will be fast. Do your best. You’re practicing listening, filtering, deciding, and curating information into a note.

Send the note to me. If you made the note on paper, take a picture of it and attached it to an email.

Revise your reader’s notes to include any information that you didn’t already have. If you have not submitted your reader’s notes, you need to do that today.

April 28th.

While you’re waiting…

Word of the Day: “Weltschmerz” — lit; “world-pain”; the feeling of sadness at the suffering that surrounds you; the despair produced by the ubiquity of distress & hardship; weariness at the sheer burden of being. (German) Sculpture by Laurence Edwards

How To Say Weltschmerz

Unit 3 Introductory Lecture tomorrow. Get ready by re-reading Activity 3.3, reading 3.4 and setting up a Cornell Note.

Unit 5: Course Portfolio. Please read so that you have an idea of where we are headed and what you are responsible for.

You should be reading your independent novel. Set a goal to be finished the first read by May 10th so that you have time to complete your reader’s notes.

Consult the course calendar often as changes and updates are made regularly.
