None of the above

In a world where nuance, uncertainty and shades of grey are ever more common, becoming comfortable with ambiguity is one of the most valuable skills you can acquire.

If you view your job as taking multiple choice tests, you will never be producing as much value as you are capable of.

Make the agenda, invent the possible paths, tell us where we’re going next. Life is an essay, not a Scantron machine.

Today, you will have some time to read your novels and work on your reader’s notes.

Note: Please decide as a group how you will divide your novels into three.

I am also introducing the second part of Unit 2: Investigating the Media.

Learning Goals

By the end of this activity you will be able to:

  • Use a variety of listening strategies to understand information and ideas, as well as how the conventions of an audio text create meaning;
  • Distinguish the differences between podcasts and blogs;
  • Analyze the perspectives present in an audio text;
  • Reflect on the differences between listening and reading.

Read the whole activity over today, so that you can ask questions for clarification. I will not be in class next week until Wednesday.
