Today, you will conduct your literature circle conversations

  1. Move into groups;
  2. Decide who will be the discussion facilitator;
  3. Hand your question cards to the facilitator;
  4. Go around the group once to gather participants’ initial thoughts on the 1st section of the novel;
  5. Discussion facilitator leads with group questions;
  6. Complete the Literature Circle Reflection;
  7. Post the reflection to Sesame.

Literature Circle Meeting #1 Prep

Today, you will prepare for your first literature circle.

Literature circles engage readers in rich conversations about shared readings. You can express your opinions, predictions, and questions about a text.

Today, you work independently, considering your novel and your role in the conversation. Re-read the text to generate 5 questions (some personal connections, some layered questions).
