  • Find ideas that Boser is putting forward that confirm what you already know about learning. Leave a comment and an example for each.
  • Ask 3 questions of the document. They could be things you don’t understand, something you wonder, and something you want to be clarified.
  • Locate at least 3 unfamiliar words. In your annotation/comment include the definition and an example of how you might use the word in a sentence.

We have two items on the agenda today.

We will work with the essay “What do you do when you’re not the hero anymore”.

  • choose 1 of the essay questions to discuss at your tables
  • choose 1 of the remaining questions to write about in your notebook

We will  reactivate our blogs. Review the blogging lesson document.

Create your first post. Remember to categorize and tag it!

Comment on two of your classmates posts by Tuesday.

Have a terrific weekend!

Remember to read!

We will continue to read our independent novel. If you didn’t set a reading rate yesterday, be sure to let me know to time you.

We will complete our academic goal planning frame, and post our goals on Sesame.

Finally, we are going to review ways to annotate a non-fiction text and practice those skills with “What to do when you’re not the hero anymore” by Laurie Penny. I think you’ll like this post because it challenges the patriarchal society of North America (at least).
