What I liked about the Learning Strategy Presentations…..

  • how well you worked together
  • how you solved problems together
  • how you stayed calm and focused all week despite hiccups in the process
  • how you supported each other’s presentations
  • Ferris’ shout out to Ms. Griffin’s suggestion to “come back” to a problem later (interleaving)
  • Kendra’s sharing her personal example of how she used to study (risk-taking)
  • Creative use of video by the Interleaving group
  • Excellent use of slides by the Elaboration group
  • Active learning by the Retrieval Practice group
  • Active learning by the Concrete Example group
  • Excellent presentation of information by the Spaced Learning group
  • Excellent use of images by the Dual Coding group

AND ESPECIALLY how in spite of the FEAR, you chose to CREATE!

Independent Reading and updating reading log.

The Peer Evaluation form below is one I would like us to think about and work on together. In other words, what in it is appropriate for us and what needs to be revised? This will happen over the course of the semester. For now, I would like you to use it only to assess YOUR collaboration in the Learning Strategies Presentation project.

  • Find ideas that Boser is putting forward that confirm what you already know about learning. Leave a comment and an example for each.
  • Ask 3 questions of the document. They could be things you don’t understand, something you wonder, and something you want to be clarified.
  • Locate at least 3 unfamiliar words. In your annotation/comment include the definition and an example of how you might use the word in a sentence.
